The Freshman Debate #1

The Debating Society brings to you The Freshman Debate, 2010.

The debate will consist of 3 rounds. The first two rounds will be held on Monday, 11th October and the final round on Thursday, 14th October.

After a lot of thought, we've decided that the first round will be a group discussion (G.D.) round.

The following are the list of topics for the G.D.:

1. British Raj was good for India
2. Relevance of Gandhian ethics in today’s world
3. Lying is acceptable in advertising
4. Is India truly secular?

Any one of these topics can be given to you. Each G.D. will be of around 12 minutes and have 6-7 participants.

The venue and time will be messaged to you on Monday. Details of the the second and third round will be disclosed to you after the first round.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to hone your debating skills and go a long way in building your confidence!
